About Hurricane Mountain Pottery
Holly Johnson is the owner of Hurricane Mountain Pottery, which she started in her home in East Conway, New Hampshire, near Hurricane Mountain. She has had a lifelong love of pottery, and started out by attending pottery classes at Wesleyan University in CT. Holly creates functional and traditional pottery in her studio at home, using a pottery wheel and electric kiln. Sometimes, hand sculptures are a part of her pottery pieces as well. Her love of horses, dogs and wildlife is often reflected in her pottery. Her designs range from large serving bowls, dinner ware pieces, pasta bowls, canisters, mugs, hand carved wall plaques, casserole dishes, pitchers, lamps and much more. Most of her pieces have a unique stamp on the bottom of the piece, such as a moose, bear, turtle, or an interesting design. She makes many of the stamps she uses, and she always stamps each piece with her initials. All of her pottery is handmade, "one of a kind". The colors range in shades of blues, greens and earth tones. Holly feels that all of her pottery comes from her soul, and truly loves the creation of many unique pieces.
Her work can be seen in many craft shows throughout New Hampshire and Maine. Thank you for visiting Holly’s website, and she hopes to see you at one of her shows.
